How We Stumbled Upon Tallow
This past winter, we were told by a doctor that having a constant diaper rash, no matter what we did or used to treat it, was a normal.
I was not happy about that.
So I got to searching online about the best natural products for keeping skin protected and read about tallow.
Now, if you know me, you know I can never just do something part way. So I went all in, learning to completely render down beef fat into tallow, meticulously filtering and cleaning it until it smelled less like a steak and more like a weird, slightly meaty version of coconut oil.
I did thorough research on each ingredient, refusing to use anything that wasn’t needed and useful.
Vitamin E, to promote skin healing.
Chamomile infused into the olive oil, to promote a smoothing AND soothing cream. The olive oil helps soften the tallow as well as give your skin a nice drink, before the tallow creates a moisture barrier to protect even the most sensitive skin.
Non-nano zinc oxide both aids in keeping the skin dry, and has particles too big for your skin absorb so you know your little ones safe.
The bentonite clay draws out impurities and pulls the toxins out of any skin that may have been wet, and can reduce redness as well.
White beeswax, which not only helps keep out moisture, but also is filtered of any pollens and proteins, and therefore is hypoallergenic.
When I first made this cream, I didn’t know how well it would work. You can imagine my surprise, then, when overnight his skin was clear.
The rash I couldn’t get to go away no matter how many tubes of store bought creams I went through, was G O N E.
So when I tell you we LOVE our tallow products, it’s the honest truth. We use them all daily because we actually love what’s in it and how incredible it works.
There is no water as an ingredient in any of my products, no alcohols, no preservatives or chemicals, sulfates, parabens, phthalates, or any of the other ingredients you’re questioning when reading the back of a container.
One of my core values is kindness, which is why I named the company Liv Kind. Partly it’s a tie in to my name, but it’s also a reminder that living life kind means kind to others AND yourself.
So I am going to do this kindness for you—giving you a product line that ACTUALLY moisturizes and nourishes your skin(instead of drying it out so you use more).
But I want you to be kind to yourself too. And maybe that looks like saying something nice in your head, maybe it’s buying some soap that smells incredible and helps you finally be able to wash your cracked hands without the sting, it’s up to you!
But just remember, a little goes a long way for ALL of our products, especially our digital offering, Inner Nourishment.
I’m so glad you’re here, thank you for celebrating the launch of Liv Kind with me.
